# New Feature: Gradebook Custom Rubric Points for Project Assignments

In some cases, instructors created a custom rubric for the Projects to adjust points in the rubric such as giving more points to harder steps. This resulted in the total points of the custom rubric being different from that of the original rubric. However, the SIMnet gradebook would still reflect the points from original rubric by scaling the custom rubric points. To eliminate this confusion, we have released a feature that allows you to set the custom rubric points to appear in the SIMnet gradebook.

Once you have a custom rubric set up, assign the Project to the class, make sure that the custom rubric is selected in the Rubric dropdown, and select **Custom Rubric** for the **Based Gradebook Points On** setting.
