A Friendly IP address can be used to save IP ranges so they are available to instructors when scheduling assignments. For example, you may want to add Friendly IP's for IP ranges of campus labs or frequently used IP addresses. IP addresses on which these settings will occur will appear listed at the bottom of the screen.
If you would like to add a new "friendly" IP address, type the name you would like to use in the Friendly Name box. Enter the IP address in the IP Address box, and an IP range in the box to the right. The Add IP link will add the "friendly" IP name to the list. Click the save button on the Options page to save your changes.
If you would like to remove a friendly IP from the list, simply select the IP address that you want to remove, and click the Remove IP(s) link.
Note: If your lab supports both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses you may need to enter both formats to be used for IP restrictions.
