Digital Credentials are proof of your students' hard work and achievements in SIMnet. Digital Credentials can be added to a student's resume or online footprint to demonstrate their skill in Microsoft Office applications and other areas such as Generative AI. There are two types of credentials in SIMnet. **Applied Skills** credentials mark the successful demonstration of skills by completing an assigned Exam or Project and earning above 90%. **Completion Credentials** mark the disciplined review of course materials and require completing each section of the student's textbook. SIMnet credentials are divided into four levels, with the Applied Expert Skills being the most difficult.

Capstone Projects provide students an opportunity to demonstrate mastery of a wide array of skills for each Microsoft Office application: Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. **Applied Expert Skills** credentials are awarded for completing a Applied Expert Skills Exam. These exams test students’ mastery of each application. Each exam contains a random set of 60 questions that must be completed within 90 minutes with a score of 90% or higher to earn the credential. Applied Skills Credentials must be assigned to students. Assigning credentialed projects or exams works like assigning any other content item. There is an Assignment Preference for the credential threshold. The school can set the **Threshold** preference to be between 90% and 100%. This is the score required to earn the credential. Credentials cannot be set to a threshold lower than 90%. Level 3 Capstone Projects for the **Applied Intermediate Skills** credential are already created for each application. They have a Credential icon in the content list and you can filter to find them easily.

### Completion Credentials Completion credentials are based on completing each Let Me Try interactivity in a SIMbook. Students can now earn the **Essential Skills** credential for completing all of the Let Me Try questions for the introductory chapters, available in the Office level books. The **Advanced Skills** credential is available for students who complete the advanced chapters of each application. For example, students can earn an **Essential Skills** credential for completing A Skills Approach Word 365 Chapters 1 through 5 and an **Advanced Skills** credential for completing Chapters 6 through 9. Students can earn progress toward a credential by completing assignments that require a Let Me Try interactivity, including Lessons, SIMpaths, and assigned SIMbooks as well as opening a book directly in the library. Students can complete either credential without the other. Completion Credentials are automatically available. There is a blue badge icon on those book covers in the Library. They do not need to be assigned. If you have a student that would benefit from the Show Me or Guide Me being the credential they need to complete for accessibility or accommodation reasons, you can easily change their Library requirement in their Snapshot.

### Enabling Credentials for Your Account Administrators should ensure their account has enabled Credentials. In the **Admin** **Settings** menu on the left navigation, you can view the options for the account. Ensure the **Credentials** checkbox is selected. If it is not, click the settings gear to select it.

As an administrator, you can also add custom branding to the Applied Skills credentials that students earn. This is a great way to add visibility for students coming from your institution when they share their achievements online. Your institution's name and logo can appear on the certificate of achievement. {% hint style="info" %} **Learn more:** [Branding](/instructor-experience/admin-settings/admin-settings-branding.md) {% endhint %} ### Viewing Your Student's Credentials Earned SIMnet Credentials can be viewed in several ways. * From the **Courses List**, you can click on the Credentials widget to view credentials across all of your courses. If you are an admin, you can view credentials across all courses for your account.

* From a **Course Snapshot**, you can click on the Credentials widget to view credentials for just that specific course. * From a **Student Snapshot**, you can click on the Credentials widget to view credentials for just that specific student. You can export those reports to Excel for further analysis or sharing.

Clicking on an individual credential will take you to the details. Applied Skills credentials have a badge and a certificate.
