# Message Center & Friendly IP Ranges

## Messaging Center

The Messaging Center has been removed from both Instructor and Student views for users that do not currently have the Communication Center enabled.

Between this release and full sunset in December 2025, all Messaging Center settings are locked.

* Accounts with messaging turned on will continue to have messaging options available but will not be able to turn messaging off.
* Accounts with messaging turned off will not see any messaging options and will not be able to turn messaging.

With the December 2025 release, Messaging Center will be fully deprecated.

We recommend that instructors and students use their institution or LMS’s communication system for any direct messaging.

## Friendly IP Ranges

Friendly IPs have been locked and Administrators can no longer add new Friendly IPs. The option will no longer appear for any users.

* Existing Friendly IPs that were previously added and saved will be available to add to individual assignments through the end of December.

With the December 2025 release, the Friendly IP’s will be fully deprecated.

Moving forward, IPs will still be able to be added manually to individual assignments.
